Kyokushin Karate is a very powerful style, it is a traditional martial art and is great for fitness and self defence.
Originally developed in Japan by the legendary Mas Oyama, Kyokushin Karate is one of the most widespread styles, with clubs all over the world.
Kyokushin students are well respected and are highly disciplined, they learn not only to defend themselves but also gain great confidence in themselves from the training.
Karate is taught to both adults and children at FAFC, and has a strong competition team, with world, national and state champions both teaching and training and a very successful children's team who fight in the non contact arena.
No matter your age you are welcome at FAFC, you will develop fitness, strength, technical excellence and confidence as you progress through the grades to black belt.
Classes:
You will wear a gi ( Karate uniform ) and will learn the powerful techniques of" The World's Strongest Karate ". Classes include traditional karate basic blocks strikes and kicks mixed with contempary fighting skills. Age old techniques are used to form a strong mind and body.

Maria Rich (Gibilisco) is a World champion for Kyokushin Full Contact Karate.The first World Champion Australia was to produce.
She has been training in Karate since she was eight years old and by the age of twelve was training five nights per week while other children were playing.

Peter Rich first walked into a Kyokushin Dojo in 1991. Classes were held in the Eltham Leisure centre Fridays and the Community hall on Mondays. It was a Friday night and Peter had given in to pressure by his older brother Andrew to just try it. With no previous Martial Arts experience besides teenage backyard brawling he really had no idea of what was involved. |

Antoinette Gibilisco started training in Kyokushin Karate 1984 under Sensei George Kolovos at the old Essendon Dojo in Bradshaw street Scout Hall. She gained her Black Belt in 1993 after sitting for years on a worn out Brown Belt.
Before her time as a contact fighter she placed in the top three in various non-contact divisions including wins at the NAS , Victorian Teams and in Kata .
